How to compare refrigerated transport quotes
Compare the scope of the journey before comparing the headline price. Consistent cargo, route and service details make quotes easier to assess.

Compare the scope of the journey before comparing the headline price. Consistent cargo, route and service details make quotes easier to assess.
Use the same brief
Send every provider the same pickup and delivery locations, stop count, date, cargo details and product temperature requirements. Include returns or a return journey if needed. A single delivery is not equivalent to a multi-stop distribution route.
Check inclusions and exclusions
Ask whether loading, unloading, waiting, permits and route-related charges are included. Request the method for charging delays, additional stops and schedule changes. Keep written confirmation instead of assuming an omitted item is free.
Confirm suitability and documentation
Check that the proposed vehicle matches the load and product requirements. Specify any tracking or delivery documents you need and ask whether they are available for this journey.
Separate estimates from confirmed prices
Clarify when the price becomes final, how long the quote is valid, and the payment, cancellation and change terms. Compare the total payable amount rather than the deposit alone.
Compare scope in practice
A quote for two locations cannot be compared directly with one covering additional branches and agreed waiting time. Write one list of requirements and ask both providers to price it. Review the total, responsibilities and exclusions before booking.
